"Point of No Return", album arosed from the compelling inspiration of Mental Escape Pod aka Felix Montfort, is a charming journey from dusk into darkness. Bass-heavy drones build the atmosphere before odd hisses flow into the soundscape. A high, oscillating key sound is the last to appear, elevating the music to spacey solitary heights, gazing at the stars as they slowly reveal themselves. Slow noises herald the oncoming darkness as the tracks slowly spiral upward to the silence of full night. The listener climbs through the struggle of awakening until the drone fades to a moment of clarity and wakefulness. The silence between notes becomes as much music as the sound as the song begins to build once more. The music ends with a slow fade to total isolationism; The mind is piqued and the journey begins in earnest once again. (review by Emiliano Pietrini)
